Highway Commissioner Richland County has a full-time opening for a Highway Commissioner. The purpose of this position is to plan, administer and monitor the highway maintenance, building and repair in Richland County. This position also supervises all County Highway Department personnel; participates in the preparation of bid specifications for equipment and construction projects; cooperates with State and Federal Department of Transportation representatives on road, bridge, sign and safety aided projects; and monitors department and project budgets. This department head position participates in Highway & Transportation Committee, County Board, Town Board, and other committee meetings to provide information on county road and bridge projects. High school diploma with six to nine years highway construction and maintenance supervisory experience preferred, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Wisconsin Commercial Driver’s License is required. The wage range for this 40-hr/week position is $34.15-$35.71 per hour with county health, retirement, and other fringe benefits.
