Richland County Veterans Service Officer
Richland County is seeking applications for the position of County Veterans Service Officer. Applicants shall be a Wisconsin resident who served on active duty under honorable conditions in the U.S. armed forces as provided by Chapter 45 of the State of Wisconsin Statutes. Duties include advising person living in the county who served in the U.S. armed forces regarding aids or benefits, assisting with complaints or problems arising out of their service and rendering assistance to them and their dependents; providing reports to the county board as required; and furnishing information about veteran burial places. An Associate degree with two years experience dealing with veterans and knowledge of Federal and State Veterans’ laws is desired. The annual salary for the position is $39,839.02 plus county benefits.
 
Applicants will be required to take a civil service examination. The Richland County Board of Supervisors will elect the individual to serve as the County Veterans Service Officer. Skills testing will be required.
